1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions:

services’ includes membership, seminars, courses and events.

St George Sutherland Law Society’, ‘we’ or ‘us’ means the St George Sutherland Regional Law Society of New South Wales.

website‘ means one of the websites of St George Sutherland Regional Law Society of New South Wales, including those appearing at [insert URL].

2. General

2.1 These Terms and Conditions apply to any purchase of goods or services from the St George Sutherland Law Society through the website.

2.2 These Terms and Conditions may be amended periodically and you will be deemed to have accepted any amendments if you use the website after those amendments have been posted.

3. Contract and price

3.1 All prices displayed on the website are in Australian Dollars and inclusive of GST, unless otherwise indicated.

3.2 Discounted prices are only available to Members of the St George Sutherland Law Society.

3.3 Description of services and prices may be subject to change or correction at any time. Although we seek to ensure information is correct, we make no representation or warranty as to information being accurate or complete.

3.4 If we discover an error (e.g. services are displayed for the wrong price), we will try to notify you as soon as possible and allow you to cancel your order and obtain a refund if desired.

3.5 You may be required to provide your credit card details to us for the purpose of issuing a credit to your credit card account in the amount of any cancelled order.

3.6 By submitting an order via the website you warrant that:

(a) you are capable of entering into a legally binding contract with the St George Sutherland Law Society;

(b) you are authorised and able to make payment via the method you have chosen;

(c) the payment information you have provided is correct; and

(d) your purchase is not made for the purpose of commercial resale.

3.7 A contract for purchase is only formed once we have accepted an order by issuing a receipt number.

4. Payment method

4.1 Payment can be made with valid credit cards (Amex, Visa, Mastercard of which a fee may apply) or by cheque.

4.2 The St George Sutherland Law Society will deduct all amounts owing at the time of processing your order. If we are unable to deduct from your credit card the total amount owing to us in one transaction, we may process any number of transactions on your credit card until the total amount owed to us is paid.

4.3 In the case of a cheque payment for an online order, you must also provide us with a copy of the order confirmation.

4.4 Payment is due the earlier of:

(a) within 5 days of an order; or

(b) 7 days before the date upon which Services are to be provided.

5. Delivery

5.1 Seminars, courses and events are provided at the location as advertised and determined by the St George Sutherland Law Society.

5.2 All relevant details for attendance at seminars, courses and events will be made available approximately three (3) business days prior to the event, or on the same day as the event at the latest.

6. Refund/cancellation policy

6.1 If you notify us in writing 7 days or less before a seminar, course or event that you are unable to attend, you may nominate a replacement delegate to attend in your stead. No refund will be issued.

6.2 The delegate, must be a current financial member of the St George Sutherland Law Society.

6.3 The St George Sutherland Law Society intends to run seminars, courses or events as advertised but reserves the right to change the programs without notice and to cancel if there are insufficient registrations.

7. Photography

By attending a seminar, course or event, you acknowledge that your photo might be taken and you consent to the taking and use (including in any publication or production) of any such photo by us in whole or in part, and in conjunction with any words or drawings, in electronic or print form.

8. Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales. The parties irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.

9. Consumer data policy and security

9.1 When you make a purchase through the St George Sutherland Law Society website, we will capture your name, email address, phone number and address. This information allows us to process your purchase successfully and will be stored on the secure hosting server which hosts the St George Sutherland Law Society website. Your information will not be disclosed to third parties not involved in the transaction.

9.2 You will be required to manually enter your credit card details to complete a purchase. Your credit card details are sent directly to the St George Sutherland Law Society’s payment provider, eWAY, over a secure SSL encrypted connection. The St George Sutherland Law Society does not record or store these credit card details, we will only store the response alerting us if the transaction was successful. eWAY has tier 1 PCI DSS compliance to make sure that your data is highly protected.

9.3 When you fill out the ‘Contact Us’ form, we will capture your name, email address, phone number and message. This allows us to reply to your enquiry. This information will be stored on the secure hosting server which hosts the St George Sutherland Law Society website. Your information will not be disclosed to third parties.

9.4 All information is transmitted using 256 bit SSL encryption to ensure that your personal details are kept safe.
